The British Retail Consortium is the lead trade association representing the whole range of retailers, from the large multiples and department stores through to independents, selling a wide selection of products through centre of town, out of town, rural and virtual stores.

　　英國零售商協(xié)會（ British Retail Consortium），簡稱BRC。是一個重要的國際性貿易協(xié)會，其成員包括大型的跨國連鎖零售企業(yè)、百貨商場、城鎮(zhèn)店鋪、網絡賣場等各類零售商，產品涉及種類非常廣泛。

　　1998年，英國零售商協(xié)會應行業(yè)需要，制定了BRC食品技術標準（BRC Food Technical Standard），用以評估零售商自有品牌食品的安全性。目前，它已經成為國際公認的食品規(guī)范，不但可用以評估零售商的供應商，

　　同時許多公司以其為基礎建立起自己的供應商評估體系及品牌產品生產標準。該標準發(fā)布后不久，很多其它行業(yè)的組織發(fā)現(xiàn)了該標準的借鑒價值，將其發(fā)展并延用到各自的行業(yè)標準中。隨著食品標準的廣泛實行，BRC還發(fā)布了其它全球性標準，如消費品標準（Consumer Product Standard）、食品包裝標準（Food Packaging Standard）等。
